I met and later married the love of my life on December 31, 1987 and are still madly in love with one another after over 25 years of marriage. We were blessed to have four healthy sons (Oliver Jr., Darnell, Jeremy and Elijah) who we are very proud of and one grandson (Kaiden) who loves to hang out with his papa. We joined The Mount in 1998. We have served in several different ministries including True Praise, hospitality, Beaux and Debs, marriage ministry and college tours.
I graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1978, El Centro College and Richland College in Dallas. Yvonne graduated from Washington High School in South Bend, Ind. In 1985. I work at the University of Texas at Dallas in Information Technology (SSII) and my wife works at Dallas Independent School District as a teacher’s aid.
We are Dallas sports fans… Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks, Texas Rangers and Dallas Stars. We enjoy fishing, walking and reading the bible, coaching football and track.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. reminds us that “We all have the drum major instinct. We all want to be important, to surpass others, to achieve distinction, to lead the parade. … And the great issue of life is to harness the drum major instinct. It is a good instinct if you don’t distort it and pervert it. Don’t give it up. Keep feeling the need for being important. Keep feeling the need for being first. But I want you to be the first in love. I want you to be the first in moral excellence. I want you to be the first in generosity.”

I Peter 2:11
Dear friends, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from sinful desires, which wage war against your soul.
Listen to me, you descendants of Jacob, all the remnant of the people of Israel, you whom I have upheld since your birth, and have carried since you were born. Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.
